Simply One Ingredient: Premium California Almonds

We blanch the nuts (always from the USA!) in boiling water to remove the skins, then grind and sift them into a super fine powder.

With just one ingredient, how we make our flour is just as important as what goes in it. The best almond flour – like our Wholesome Yum brand – will have super fine ground almonds with a uniform consistency, to get a perfect texture in baking.

And unlike almond meal (unblanched almond flour), which is ground with the skins intact, our flour only uses blanched almonds with skins removed. It’s a small detail that makes a huge difference in baked goods.

Best Almond Flour ever!

This finely milled, blanched almond flour is lovely in all my baked goods. The chocolate chocolate keto muffins I make with this almond flour are like the "real" thing but better. I use it in fruit crumbles, as a "breading" for chicken cutlets when I don't want to use crushed pork rinds, in bread and cookie recipes. It has the right consistency to give my homemade creations the perfect "crumb" for the perfect taste. I generally freeze a couple of bags of this when I order 3 or more at a time. I can use it directly from the freezer, no need to "thaw". I really do wish the bags were larger than just 1 pound. A two pound or larger bag would be more practical for most of us, I believe. A wonderful product nonetheless!

I love this almond flour!! Game changer… I had another brand before and it was like eating sawdust! Gross… This one is the best! I guess the key is blanched and fine.
I had also bought the coconut flour but have not used it just yet. Will continue to use this brand for sure!?

Not the best flour

I bought it to make banana bread and when I used this flour it happened that it did not compact the bread after baking it so it was like a really bad mix that it was just kind of cooked and looked like a pudding.

After I used the remaining to make crepes and those were ok but in order for it to stick you need to add way too many eggs so the taste is just horrible because the egg overpowered the taste.

I really don’t recommend this flour for baking

Sorry to hear that your baked goods didn't turn out as expected. Almond flour is not a 1:1 substitute for white flour, so typically you'd need to use recipes developed with almond flour in mind. Almond flour makes all the difference.

Being able to make my favorite desserts makes my life style change much easier to handle. I am a type two diabetic and wanted to reverse that, so I changed my eating habits to eliminate sugars and lower carbs to only 30 a day. This would have been near impossible if it wasn't for Wholesome Yum and all the great recipes. The Almond flour bottom for the cheese cakes is amazing. I also love how nicely the cakes turn out! I have used it to make crispy chicken tenders and cookies! This has become a staple in my house and the whole family enjoys the texture and taste of the foods I make with this almond flour. Best Flour Almond Flour ever!

I have tried many types of gluten free flours over the years as a member of my family has celiac disease. None have come close to acceptable mainly because of the gritty feel in my mouth and the texture of the flour. I saw an ad for this brand on social media, ordered it and made some biscuits. I was amazed at how delicious they were and similar to the taste of regular flour. I have always avoided the gluten free baked goods I made, but now I am satisfied to eat them as well. Recently my husband and I started a low carb diet. Now, I am baking the biscuits for us and they have been one thing that has helped us stay on the diet and lose much needed weight. Wish this flour was not so expensive but they all are and I especially like to buy products made in the USA. My order came quickly. I will be placing another order soon.

I have tried several almond flours over the years & this is by far the best! I make blueberry or Huckleberry muffins with this flour. I eat them almost every day -as does my husband. It really is the best!

This almond flour really is the best. I have tried several other brands and this one blows the others away because it is so finely ground. The texture you get with this flour is amazing compared to other brands. I usually try to order when there is a coupon or percentage off available due to the price. But I get it, the quality of this product costs more to produce. I would love it if there was a larger economy size available that could help offset the cost. Almond flour

We have gone 3/4 keto the last 2-3 weeks, for first time. We were completely overwhelmed at the thought of giving up our favorite foods but blood sugar levels have dictated this. We are beyond grateful for Maya and Wholesome Yum products. I have made her banana muffins, 90 second flaxseed bread, strawberry shortcake, angel food mug cake, 90 second vanilla cake (in the oven rather than microwave), mashed cauliflower (I’m a mashed potato connoisseur and was thrilled with them), tortillas, sautéed chicken breasts, and more. Both her cook books are fabulous. We are so excited to have delicious recipes! We are quite particular, and have found Maya’s sweeteners and flours to be emotionsl lifesavers!
